10 Day Water Fast - Day 3

I'm at the end of day 3 of my 10 day water fast so I should hopefully now be in ketosis (burning my fat and dead cells for fuel). This morning I weighed 78.75kg or 12st 5 & 5/8lb so I lost 1lb.
We had a wonderful day with Tom yesterday and met his new lady, Roxanne, who seems very lovely. Then in the evening we went over to Freshwater to see Billy and Laura.
I had a nice long lay in this morning as I was feeling tired, but I've been on the go all day since about 10:30am.
I went for a walk this evening and I felt quite fatigued by it and so I came to bed to do some work on my laptop.
I've drunk about 1.5 ltrs of water today, I'm just drinking when I feel like it, I'm not forcing myself to drink loads and loads of water. I haven't felt at all hungry today and although I am missing food, I can honestly say that I'm not finding this at all difficult, once my mind is on track I can be extremely focussed.
It's just gone 9pm and I'm very tired so I think I will settle down to sleep now. Good Night. xx

A new tactic

So, 4 weeks ago I decided to try a fruitarian approach to losing weight and getting healthier (not that I'm unhealthy). 4 weeks on and I feel great and have lost over a stone. I'm now pushing to another level though and yesterday was day one of  my first 10 day water fast. I have read that water fasting is the absolute best thing you can do for your health, so I'm giving it a go.
Day one was easy enough. I don't expect to get too many detox symptoms as my diet has been so clean for the last month anyway, but I have woken up with a mild headache and slightly raised blood pressure, which should go down over the next few days. I only had 2 or 3 times during the day when I felt hungry, but the feelings soon passed. Started on exactly 80kg yesterday morning and today I'm down to 79.2kg, so not a bad start 😊
Going to visit Tom in Bristol today, looking forward to seeing him.

First week done

Day Seven
Sunday 1st March 2015  Weight 13:4 & 5/8  Loss 7 & 1/2lbs

So, one week done and I'm feeling so much better. I can just keep working until everything's done and not feel the need to sit down and watch TV every 5 minutes.

I'm still following the Super Juice Me plan and it is an absolute doddle. Weight loss isn't as rapid as before because there are lots of avocados and bananas included, but that's fine, they make the juices/smoothies more filling and give lots of extra nutrients like essential fatty acids etc. I've not been remotely hungry, no cravings, not at all tempted to eat anything. I don't like ALL the juices but they are all drinkable and I know they're doing me good so I just get on with them and none of them are totally disgusting.

I've been for a long walk every morning except today (we had to go out early and I'd had a bit of a lie-in) and also every evening I take the dogs to the flyover and back, just over 1 mile.

My blood pressure, which last week was unusually high, has steadily come down this week to a nice low reading now.

So, in conclusion, after one week weight down, blood pressure down, motivation up, energy levels up and general sense of well-being very much up. I'm also sleeping much better. So everything is good :)

Day Three
Wednesday 25rd February 2015  Weight    13:8    Loss 4lbs

Woke up at 4am, much too early! Could NOT get back to sleep, so I've been tired all day, probably a bit of day 3 fatigue as well though tbh.

Dave off today so we've been busy, busy, busy. Got loads done but still got a few things from my Monday 'to do' list that I've still not done.

I've had all my Day 3 juices today but I did them in a different order to the plan. For some reason juices 1 & 4 are the same as are juices 2 & 3. When I made juice 1 there was twice as much as I wanted/needed so I decided to have half of it for breakfast and the other half for lunch. Consequently, I had the other juice for Afternoon and evening. I can't see why it would make a difference what order I have them in so I think I'll do that every day, it makes for a little less washing up of the juicer.

Went to Lamberts Castle to walk the dogs this morning and up to the flyover with them again this evening, I think they're beginning to expect the evening walk now. Not what they're used to. I've done over 10,000 steps every day this week, i must keep it up!

Just sitting watching Arsenal v Monaco first leg Champion's League match at the moment. Arsenal losing 0-1 at half time so Dave's not a happy bunny. Come On Arsenal!!

If I get a good nights sleep tonight, hopefully I'll wake up with the Day 4 'high' tomorrow. I doubt it, but then I don't really suffer from the first 3 days withdrawal either, thanks to the fact that I'm vegetarian, I eat very little dairy and definitely don't drink milk. I rarely eat junk food, I don't smoke, I don't drink tea or coffee and I don't smoke. I don't even drink very much alcohol so I don't really have anything to 'withdraw' from. My problem is I just eat TOO much.

Back to the match.

Day Two
Tuesday 24th February 2015    Weight    13:9    Loss 3lb

A good start.

Woke at 6:15am again this morning and I followed the same routine as yesterday, except that I took Dave to work.

At 9:55am I had Jason's 'Electrolyte Shot' which is not very nice at all, but it's only small. I had all my juices today and also did a lot of walking. I met up with Dave at lunchtime to walk right round the Cobb and back to the office.

I helped Grandad with his train station model this afternoon before I went to pick Dave up from work.

I took the dogs for another walk this evening, just down to the flyover and back and I'm feeling really relaxed and tuckered out. It's only 9:20pm but I think I'm going to settle down to sleep now.

Day One
Monday 23rd February 2015       Start Weight    13:12

I have finally managed to unstick my backside from the sofa today. I got up at 6:15am, made the lemon juices and ginger shots and made Dave's porridge.

At 7:15am I went out for a walk with the dogs until 8:00am.

Took Nan to her optician appointment at 9:30am and made my first juice as soon as I got home. I then watched Jason's coaching video for Day 1 and checked what shopping I needed for the next weeks juices.

I decided that I needed to go to Riverford and Waitrose today, which I then did.

Got home about 3:30pm and made my second juice then. I put all the shopping away and then made Billy a couple of baguettes. I decided I would cook a Chana Saag curry for Tom & Dave to have after playing squash.

I finally had a sit down to watch one episode of Grey's Anatomy when Dave & Tom went off to play squash.

I had my third and last juice at about 7:30pm when Dave had his dinner. I missed out on one of the day's juices because I was out shopping for so long.

It's now 10:30pm and I'm feeling tired but pretty good.  :)

 Bring on day two!!

Sunday, 22 February 2015

Damn! Here I am again, back over 14 stone. What's wrong with me?!

TODAY'S DATE IS SUNDAY 22nd FEBRUARY 2015

In my last post I was well on the way to a substantial weight loss. I can't remember the exact amount I lost in January 2013, but it was a lot. I spent most of the year relatively happy with my weight, but felt the need for another 30 day fast throughout November. I again succeeded in getting my weight down to below 140lbs and had a very happy, low weight Christmas.

2014 was a weight disaster! A gradual weight gain until our Tunisia holiday in September, but after that the floodgates opened and the weight piled on. I stopped having any juices except my usual morning lemon juice and ginger shot.

By the new year I was back up to 14st 5lbs (201lbs). I wasn't doing any exercise and I felt like a total slob.

I have made several attempts to start a juice fast since then without success, I just can't seem to find the motivation that I have felt before and that I need.

I have just read through my previous posts and I'm hoping that they will give me the momentum that I'm missing.

Tomorrow is going to be day one of the Jason Vale 'Super Juice Me' 28 day program. I've got the app and I've tried it out for a few days a couple of weeks ago and I really liked the juices. I think I need a structured plan this time for some reason.

I'm feeling down and fed up with having no energy or drive to do anything. I want this to change, I want to re-discover the vigour for life that I had when I was juicing before. I'm going to up my exercise and maybe my Golden Cap walk is the way to go, I'd forgotten about that.

Right, tomorrow it is! I must get a grip on myself.

IF I DON'T CHANGE NOTHING WILL CHANGE AND EVERYTHING HAS TO CHANGE!!
