November 2018 juice fast - Day 16 (11-10)

Weight loss is just about non-existent and I don't really know why, I must be defying nutritional science or something because how can someone eat less than 1000 calories a day plus workout at the gym and just not lose any weight? I must have discovered how to create energy from fresh air, it'll make me a millionaire! :(

That said, I am still totally motivated and I won't give up on the idea that if I keep doing what I'm doing the weight will eventually come off.

Tracey is doing really well and even wants to carry on past the end of November, which is fantastic.

I've clearly got my sights set on ending my fast on 15th December, which is just one month from now. One month! I can do that! It's just one month out of my life in order to change my life and I can do that! Then I will have Christmas to look forward to and to try not to put too much weight back on.

Today's weight is 11 stone 10 and 1/4 lbs which is a loss of just over a stone since I began and that is brilliant and I mustn't lose sight of that.

Anyway, onwards and downwards, hopefully. Have a good day and keep on juicing'. x

November 2018 juice fast - Day 12 (11-11)

Today is Monday and I decided last Thursday to only weigh myself twice a week, thinking that as my weight loss had slowed down, I would see bigger losses. Well that backfired big time. I lost only 5/8 of a pound between Thursday morning and Sunday morning. Dave suggested that I go back to weighing daily so that I can see what makes the difference. I had a good session at the gym yesterday and this morning I weigh 11-11 and 1/8, that's a loss of 1lb 1/8 on yesterday.

I definitely need to go to the gym more often, I can do no more than I am doing with my fasting so the only way I can make a difference is to up my exercise.

I'm still totally in the zone and that's where I need and want to stay. I commit to going to the gym again tomorrow evening.

November 2018 juice fast - Day 8 (11-12)

One week done & dusted! I didn't weigh in yesterday so today was a disappointing half a pound for 2 days, but I haven't been very active at all so I really shouldn't be very surprised. My weight today was 11 stone 12lb and 7/8 making my total loss for week one 11 and 3/4 lbs, which is absolutely fantastic. I won't be weighing every day from now on but I will endeavour to up my exercise.

Tracey is also doing fantastically well and is keen to do the whole month also. In addition to that, her husband Simon has also joined us today and this will be his Day 1. So good luck to Simon and welcome on this amazing journey to improved health and wellbeing.

Well, I can't think of anything else to say at the moment so I'll see you tomorrow, happy juicing :D

November 2018 juice fast - Day 6 (11-13)

I HAVE BROKEN 12 STONES!!!

11-13 and 3/8 to be precise :D

Still feeling good although my mouth feels like the bottom of a parrot cage and I'm sure my breath must reek, time to brush me thinks.

Weight loss seriously slowing, less than a pound a day now but only to be expected.

I'm feeling really good about my juicing routine, it keeps it nice and simple for me, which is what I like. I make a double dose of mean green in the morning for breakfast and lunch and then have something different each evening, grape (in a wine glass :D) or orange or carrot beetroot and apple, maybe I'll just have carrot and apple one evening, who knows. I find this routine really works for me.

I think I've reached the point where it's just what I do and I can just keep plodding my way through now until I reach the end, whenever that may be, 30th November or 15th December, whichever, it's nice and easy now. I may even stop weighing every day, although I can't promise that.

Time to start the day

November 2018 juice fast - Day 5 (12.0)

I woke up at 4am today and just knew I wasn't going back to sleep so I decided to get up and go for my 5 mile walk. It wasn't that cold and it wasn't raining so why the hell not, I thought. It's such a good feeling when you've done something like that, it would have been so easy to just lay in bed for another couple of hours. I feel clean from the inside out and totally energised.

I lost another pound today so the weight loss is slowing but that's only to be expected and to have lost 10 and a half pounds in 4 days is truly fantastic. I am feeling happy and motivated and I'm showing no signs of slowing down, which is just brilliant.

It is so empowering to finally be in control of myself. I know it won't last as long as I would like it to but hey, make hay while the sun shines! And I am bailing that hay as fast as I can :D

We spoke at length to Tom yesterday and we're delighted that he's looking forward to coming home, we can't wait to see him. He says he wants to do a juice fast when he gets home so I'm thinking that I may carry on for another 15 days (45 days in all) which will take me to the middle of December, perfect timing to transition back onto real food in time for the festivities. However, I may be screaming for something to eat long before I get to day 30, so I'll see how it goes before I commit to another 15 days at this stage.

We've got to go to Newton Abbot again this morning for my post op check-up, but I'm sure everything is fine, in fact I'm typing this post today without glasses for the first time in years. It's so wonderful to have my sight back, the best decision I've made in a long time, money well spent :D

Signing off now to get on with the day so bye for now, until tomorrow adios x

November 2018 juice fast - Day 4 (12-1)

So, it's the morning of day 4 and my weight today is 12 stone 1lb and 1/8, a total loss in 3 days of 9 1/2 lbs, a-mazing!

Yesterday I had my second eye op which went really well and I can now see to write this post without glasses or contact lenses, yay!

Tracey is also doing really well, I'm so pleased for her, this could be life changing for her as it has been for me over the years. But once again I must try to maintain a healthy way of eating in order to maintain the weight loss long term, and as I've said before, that is the real challenge.

I've been sticking to a rather easy formula of juices, Mean Green for breakfast and lunch and either grape or orange juice in the evening, which really works for me, but I did buy some beetroots yesterday so I'm thinking I'll have a carrot, beetroot and apple juice this evening just to mix it up a bit.

I've been going to bed quite early, not to sleep but just to get me out of temptations way, because I do get quite peckish in the evenings as I've been having my last juice around 5ish, but its working well for me at the moment.

Hoping to go for a nice long walk this morning before it starts raining. See you tomorrow, adios amigos :D

November 2018 juice fast - Day 2 (12-6)

Day 2 done and dusted and I'm feeling good. Tracey also had a good day apparently so that's great too. Not really got anything to report just that I am still feeling super motivated. Tomorrow should see me hit a new low weight for this year of below 12 stone 6lbs which will be awesome because I've been stuck at 12-6 for weeks now :(

Today I had half a lime in warm water upon waking then a little later I had a ginger shot (1 apple with a small piece of ginger) followed by my first Mean Green juice of the day (3 apples, 1 small lemon, half a cucumber, 2 smallish sticks of celery, a piece of ginger and 4 stalks of kale). At around 1ish I had my second Mean Green juice using 1 less apple, only 1 stick of celery and spinach instead of kale. Around 4-30ish I had a large wine glass full of red grape juice, probably my fave juice and it kind of tricks the brain into thinking you're having a glass of wine.

It's now 9-30 and I've had nothing since the grape juice but I'm not starving and I'm about to settle down to sleep, so goodnight and remember 'If I can do 2 days, I can do 3'
